The Stay
Built for the weekend you don't go anywhere.
Black Ember was built in 2024 and designed as a retreat from day one. The front of the house is a wall of glass from the floor to the peak, with sliders that open to the deck, so the woods feel like part of the living room.
The main level is one open space: a living room with an electric fireplace, a designer kitchen with a tile bar, and a dining area. Upstairs, an open loft bedroom with its own bath, and above that a hideaway nook right under the peak.

The sauna
Heat, then cold air, then the fire.
A cedar barrel sauna sits out on the deck with a window into the trees. Warm up, cool off in the open air, then settle in by the fire pit or sink into the hot tub.

What are check-in and check-out times?+
Check-in is after 4:00 PM and check-out is before 11:00 AM. It's self check-in with a keypad, and your code comes before you arrive.
How many people does it sleep?+
Up to 5 guests. Bedroom 1 on the main level has a queen and a single bed. Bedroom 2 has a queen, an open loft, and its own full bath. There's also a small hideaway nook up a built-in ladder.
Are pets allowed?+
No pets, sorry. Service animals are always welcome.
Is the road OK for my car?+
The last stretch is gravel with a few rough spots. Most cars handle it fine, just take it slow.
Is there a view?+
The house is tucked in the woods, so you get privacy and quiet rather than a long mountain view. The trees are the view, and they're especially good in the fall.
Any house rules?+
No smoking anywhere on the property, and no parties or events. The sauna and hot tub get hot, so stay hydrated, skip them after drinking, and keep glass away from the hot tub. For safety, there are exterior security cameras and a noise decibel monitor on the property.
Is booking here safe?+
Yes. Reservations and payments are handled securely by Hospitable, the same system that runs our Airbnb calendar. Dates update live, so there's no risk of a double booking.
